Messi Named World's Best Playmaker In 2017, CR7 Not In Top 10

FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been named the World's Best Playmaker in 2017, while his rival Cristiano Ronaldo finished outside the top 10.
The Germany-based International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has announced its annual World's Best Playmaker ranking, and Messi defended his title for a second time.
The Argentine, who also won the 2015 and 2016 versions of the award, finished on 247 points – 157 points more than second-placed Toni Kroos.
The German, who was the 2014 winner, received 90 points from experts in 91 countries, beating his teammate Luka Modric to second spot. The Croatian shares third position with Neymar after both received 81 points.
Other high-profile names among the top 10 include Isco and two-time winner Andres Iniesta, while Ronaldo finished in 11th position.
Messi's triumph ensured that Barca have now won the award in nine out of the past 10 editions – Xavi Hernandez between 2008 and 2011, Iniesta in 2012 and 2013 and now the Argentine for the last three years, while Kroos won it in 2014.

  1. Penaldo called himself the best player in history of football.....He said he is the most complete player in the world but he is nowhere near the top 10 best play makers in the world.....According the starts it shows that Messi is the most complete player in the world not Penaldo.........This award is not based in France where they only award European players.....Messi the best player, best Play maker, Best passer of the ball, Best goalscorer in the world.....Penaldo is only good when it comes to make lot of kids.
