Zidane Refuses To Back Ronaldo For Ballon d'Or Success

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is believed to be the favourite to lift this year's Ballon d'Or award, but his manager Zinedine Zidane has refused to back him publicly.
Despite having a slow start to the new campaign, the Portuguese star has had a prosperous 2017, having lifted the La Liga title, UEFA Champions League trophy and the UEFA Super Cup.
When asked by members of the media who he thought would lift the prestigious award come 6 December ahead of Real's match against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, the French tactician refused to say.
"I'm not going to put anyone on the podium," Zidane said, as quoted by ESPN.
"The Ballon d'Or is something else, people vote."
The Los Blancos boss was, however, happy to talk about certain other player in his pre-game press conference.
"I will only tell you that I like Isco a huge amount because he's always creative, he always tries," Zidane added.
"For me, the player that always tries ends up with success."
