R15m Price Tag On Sundowns’ Target!

Cape Town City slapped a €1 million (±R15 million) price tag for the services of one of their star players amidst interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and clubs abroad.
Soccer Laduma broke the news of Sundowns’ interest in Lebogang Manyama last year, December and despite John Comitis confirming to the Siya crew at the time that no South African money will be able to buy Manyama, it was subsequently revealed by Head Coach Pitso Mosimane that he would like to have the player at his club.
At the time, Mosimane also revealed that should he look to go in for a player like Manyama, City could put a hefty price on the player’s services and City chairman, Comitis has done just that.
“It would be nice to have him (Manyama), but he belongs to another club, and you know what happens with Sundowns… When Sundowns wants a player you know the story. We don’t get him or he costs R10m - the same as the PSL title,” Mosimane revealed to media at the PSL headquarters on March 29 this year.
The Siya crew has been reliably informed by sources in the know that Comitis has placed a €1 million (±R15 million) fee on Manyama after interest spiralled from both Masandawana and the latest being an undisclosed European club.
Now, with news of the 26-year-old's value, it remains to be seen whether the likes of Masandawana will look to approach City for Manyama in the current July/August transfer window.
