Benni Jets In To CPT, City Deal About To Be Made?

Benni McCarthy is currently in Cape Town after jetting in to meet with Cape Town City chairman, John Comitis.
Eric Tinkler stepped down from the helm of the Mother City-based club last week Thursday, where he was later unveiled as the head coach of SuperSport United.Following the announcement, the Siya crew revealed that amongst several candidates who submitted their CVs for the vacant head coach role with the 2016 Telkom Knockout champions, Bafana Bafana legend, McCarthy’s name was whispered among the people who could possibly take over from where Tinkler left off.
Now, the Siya crew can confirm from a reliable source that Bafana’s all-time top goal-scorer has jetted in to the Mother City where he met with Chairman Comitis over this weekend and indications are that a deal to bring the 39-year-old on board is imminent.
McCarthy recently completed his UEFA A coaching license and is currently set to complete his UEFA Pro License which would make the Bafana legend eligible to coach anywhere around the world, including clubs in Europe’s top flights.
Now, it remains to be seen when City will make an official announcement about McCarthy, as the club confirmed last week Thursday, June 08, that a new head coach will be appointed in the seven days following Tinkler’s departure.
