Pitso: I Joined Sundowns To Play Champions League Football

Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane reveals the club are targeting CAF Champions League football for next season in the final two games. The Brazilians currently occupy second spot in the Absa Premiership table, two points behind leaders Bidvest Wits and three points ahead of third place Cape Town City.
"The team must pitch tonight, and win this game tonight because this game is very important for Sundowns for many reasons," Mosimane told SuperSport before the game.
"Besides keeping the league alive up till the end, the most important thing for us is to finish, the lowest position for us to finish is second. The last three years we finished first twice and the year before we finished second.
"If we finish second, it's important for the team to play Champions League and that's why I came to Sundowns. For you to compete in the Champions League, you have to finish first or second.
Mosimane also commented on his players' mindset heading into the final two games of the campaign.
"They know the importance of the game, for me I told them that if you can play the way you always play, because they score goals here. The last two games, we did not win them but we scored four goals out of two games," he added.
"Like Manchester City sometimes, we don't lock the backdoor, we allow them to come back, but two goals in Pretoria is enough to win.
"I hope we keep consistency  in terms our our last two games, where we've been scoring two goals a game but we need to improve at the back. We've been conceding set pieces. It's football, we've conceded a header against Baroka, Platinum Stars a throw-in and they scored from a quick set-piece. So those are the little things, but they can come and haunt us."
