Pirates to announce new coach safer another lost 1-2 against Bidvest Wits

Bidvest Wits edged out Orlando Pirates 2-1 in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) game which was played at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

Pirates went into the encounter on the back of a 6-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday.

Augusto Palacios, the Bucs caretaker coach, made only two changes to the team that lost to Sundowns. Jele returned to the starting line-up, with Dove Wome making his official debut for Pirates.

James Okwuosa, who failed to impress on debut against Sundowns, had to settle for a place on thew bench, while Gift Motupa failed a late fitness test.

All eyes were on the Buccaneers to see how they would react and get back to winning ways against another title-chasing side in Bidvest Wits.

Pirates had a promising start to the first half, with the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch and Luvuyo Memela forcing Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet into two great saves.
