Ronaldo Nets Brace As Portugal Hammer Estonia

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a brace for Portugal on Wednesday night as they humiliated Estonia 7-0 in an international friendly.

The visitors did well in the early stages of the game to hold on to the ball while also staying well organised when on the defence.

After a few squandered chances from Cristiano Ronaldo, the Real Madrid superstar finally broke the deadlock in the 36th minute. Quaresma bent a cross towards the far post where Ronaldo was in position to head home.

The lead was doubled only three minutes later. A spark of individual brilliance from Quaresma saw him chip Londak from a tight angle, curling the shot just inside the post.

Right on the stroke of half-time the hosts found themselves firmly in control of the tie as they extended their lead to 3-0. Mario combined with Ronaldo who produced the deft touch that took the ball beyond Londak.

The goals kept coming in the 55th minute as Portugal went 4-0 ahead. A corner kick from Quaresma picked out Danilo Pereira who thumped home a strong header.

Estonia's problems escalated just past the hour mark. Quaresma yet again provided the threat with a cross from the right that was parried onto Karol Mets by the goalkeeper. The deflection had enough legs to nestle in the back of the net.

Quaresma then completed his brace with a sixth goal for the Selecao in the 77th minute. The winger cut in from the right before firing home a precision finish.

Eder joined in on the goalscoring fiesta as he made it 7-0 by smashing an emphatic finish past the embattled Estonian goalkeeper to round off the
dominant victory.
