Suarez comments On Real Madrid Bribing Barca Opponents

FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has commented on rumours that Real Madrid could bribe their final La Liga opponents, Granada.

It has been suggested that Los Blancos could send briefcases with untraceable money to Granada in order to keep the team with nothing to play for motivated against log leaders Barcelona.

Real sit one point behind the Catalan giants and need the Blaugrana to drop points, and it apparently would not be the first time that briefcases would be sent to motivate a rival club's opposition.

However, Suarez has dismissed such talk, believing that Granada's players will play for their own ego rather than money.

"I don't believe in the 'suitcases of money' given to others, I believe that the Granada players have their own ego," the Uruguayan said at a pre-match press conference, as quoted by Group14.

"It's not about money, it's about ego. The Granada players will want to win for winning's sake. We want to win for the league.

"I'm not one to decide if payments to other teams should be legalised. Each team has its ego and bonuses."

Suarez leads the La Liga goalscoring charts with 37 goals, four ahead of his closest rival Cristiano Ronaldo, but insisted that winning the league title is more important than any individual award.

"Being the league top scorer or Golden Boot doesn't matter if we don't win the league," he added.

"It's essential that we keep a clean sheet, we know that from midfield up we can mark differences, we've improved in everything."
