Rumours: Giggs To Quit If Mourinho Replaces Van Gaal

Manchester United assistant coach Ryan Giggs will reportedly leave the Red Devils if the club decides to appoint Jose Mourinho as their next manager.

According to the Sunday People, the Welshman has been told by former teammates of his to quit his position as assistant coach and take up a head coaching job elsewhere.

Giggs, who has worked under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, is rumoured to have had enough of being an assistant, and wants the Old Trafford job if the Dutchman is sacked at the end of the season.

The 42-year-old's friends and business partners Gary and Phil Neville both left United to gain experience elsewhere, and many think the Wales legend should do the same.

Gary Neville had a short spell with Spanish side Valencia, and is currently one of the England national team's assistant coaches, while his brother is still part of the La Liga team's backroom staff.

Giggs finds himself in a bit of a dilemma, though, as he believes he will only get one shot at managing United – and if he leaves Old Trafford now and fails at his next club, it could ruin his chances of landing the post in the future.
