One More PSL Player Sent Packing

Having shown Tshidiso Tukane the door this morning (Friday), Mpumalanga Black Aces have also released Charlton Basson from the club.

The midfielder joined Aces from Ajax Cape Town’s highly successful youth development structures at the beginning of the season. Initially, Basson joined Aces' youth development and was later promoted to Muhsin Ertugral’s first team, following his impressive progress in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.

Although the player is yet to make an appearance for AmaZayoni in the PSL, having been included in the 18-man match day squads on just two occasions this season, the Siya crew has it on good authority that the club has reached an agreement with him to go separate ways.

“Charlton Basson has been released from Mpumalanga Black Aces. Just like Tshidiso Tukane, he was released from the club this morning. The reason for releasing him is more like that of the other player (Tukane), and that’s for disciplinary issues. That’s all I can say for now,” a source told the Siya crew.

Attempts to get an official comment from the club were unsuccessful at the time of publishing the article. Aces are preparing for their trip to Tshwane for their game with SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
