Messi in trouble from Diego Simeone’s brother-in-law after ‘picking' managers and players for Argentina

Carlos Dibos, who worked as a physical trainer for the national side under Alfio Basile during 2006 and 2008, claims the Barcelona star calls the shots regarding squad call-ups and the coach running the show from the touchline.Messi is Argentina’s key man but is yet to win a major title after finishing second to Germany in the 2014 World Cup.

The current Ballon d’Or holder has also narrowly missed out on the Copa America twice as managers look to combine his skills with other strikers including Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain. But Dibos is adamant that Messi’s behaviour is having a severely negative impact on all those involved with Argentina’s national side, telling Radio La Redvia AS that people are ‘sick’ of the forward’s behaviour.

Dibos said: “Messi picked managers and players and did whatever he wanted with the national team.“Now the truth is out, we’re sick [of his behaviour] in Argentina. We’re going to make that very clear.

“Resentment, begrudgery and selfishness mean people can have crazy opinions in this country. I can’t believe there are journalists and pundits out there who say Simeone can’t manage the national team because Messi wouldn’t want him in charge. They’re bonkers.”
