Manyisa Set For Bucs V Chiefs Return?

Oupa Manyisa might be set for his Orlando Pirates return in the Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs.

As reported by the Siya crew in this week’s Soccer Laduma newspaper, it is believed that the midfielder is unlikely to play in any official games for Pirates in the 2015/16 season, as he is currently in the process of regaining his fitness.

‘Ace’, as the player is known in football circles, recently returned to full training with the rest of his teammates at the Soweto giants. He has spent the better part of the season nursing an ankle injury.

Manyisa has been out injured since September, having picked up an ankle injury against Polokwane City in the fifth league game of the season.

Having spent over six months on the sidelines, the Bucs technical team will be expected to use the upcoming weeks to assist the team’s captain to get back to the fitness levels of the rest of the squad, while not rushing him into any competitive football action.

After their game against Maritzburg United on Saturday, Pirates will be left with only two games in the Absa Premiership season, as well as their involvement in the Nedbank Cup.

With the team having publicly stated that they had no intentions to rush the player back into the thick of things, Manyisa is likely to finish the season without having played, and could possibly make his return to competitive football against Chiefs in the pre-season derby.
