FS Stars, Dikwena End All in 1-1 draw

Free State Stars and Platinum Stars played out a 1-1 draw in their Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.

Dikwena created the first real chance of the clash as they went close in the seventh minute. The hosts failed to properly clear a corner, giving Tintswalo Tshabalala the opportunity to pounce on a loose ball and shoot just wide.

The game saw few chances after the early opening as both sides struggled to get themselves into goalscoring positions.

However, in the 36th minute the deadlock was broken. Lucky Mohomi showed some great individual skill as he turned to beat his marker before hammering a shot into the back of the net to give Ea Lla Koto the lead.

The hosts took their 1-0 advantage into the break but conceded the equaliser soon after the restart.

In the 50th minute the scores were level once again. Ndumiso Mabena produced the decisive strike as he directed a free kick past Mathole to equalise for the away side.

Dikwena had a great chance to take the lead just past the hour mark when Mabena found himself in a position to head home from close range, but he sent his effort off target.

The travelers threatened to score again in the last 15 minutes as Mabena picked out Vuyo Mere in the box, but his header went over the bar and the spoils were shared.

Here's how they lined up:
