Cosmos’ Goalkeeper Matter Postponed

The ongoing legal matter involving Jomo Cosmos and the Premier Soccer League regarding Thabo Modiba has been postponed for next week.

It has been speculated in local media that Ezenkosi could be in trouble for losing the points they gained in their famous 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in March.

It has been alleged that Cosmos fielded an ineligible player in Modiba in that game. The goalkeeper allegedly played for Cosmos against Chiefs without all the necessary documents from the Namibian club he played for before coming back to South Africa for the second round of the season.

However, Cosmos have been confident that the player signed from Limpopo club Dolphins FC when he joined them, and so he did not need an International Transfer Certificate (ITC)from Namibia to be eligible to play in the PSL, according to the relegation-threatened side.

The parties had been expected to meet again today (Thursday) to try and get to the bottom of the matter and come up with a solution, however, the Siya crew learnt that the hearing has been postponed for Wednesday next week.
