Bucs Sign Chippa’s Nigerian Defender

The Siya crew can exclusively reveal that Orlando Pirates have signed James Okwuosa from Chippa United. The Nigerian defender, who has been a transfer target for Bucs for some time in recent seasons, has been highly impressive for Chippa under Dan Malesela.

The centre back was one of the top performers for the Chilli Boys in their 2-0 win over Pirates at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium last night.

The 25-year-old has missed only one game for Chippa this season through suspension, and has been one of their most influential players in regard to helping the Port Elizabeth outfit remain in the top eight of the Absa Premiership for the better part of the 2015/16 season.

“It’s a done deal. James Okwuosa has signed for Orlando Pirates. He will be playing for Pirates next season,” a source told the Siya crew.

Okwuosa is expected to fill in the gap left by the retired Siyabonga Sangweni in the Pirates squad.

The other players expected to be unveiled at Pirates in the transfer window include NFD top goal scorer Thabiso Kutumela from Baroka FC, as well as highly-rated Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi.
