Baxter want Yeye and Pieterse

SuperSport United head coach, Stuart Baxter, has confirmed that the club has made their interest in Kaizer Chiefs’ Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Reyaad Pieterse known.

The Siya crew has previously reported that Matsatsantsa had now tabled contract offers to both players, and that they had also informed Chiefs of their intentions to try and sign the Amakhosi duo.

Now, when speaking to the media this week, Baxter explained that, while he doesn’t think they’ve signed yet, they have ‘made their interest known’.

The Englishman said, “We’re interested in both of them of course, because we’ve heard that both of them are not 100% happy with their situations, and we’ve obviously made our interest known.

“I mean, if that leads to both of them coming here then I’d be very pleased because we need that sort of competition and quality, and if there are other players at the top teams that are making their displeasure known then we’d also be interested there. We’re working in a budget like everyone else, but we’re definitely interested.”

When asked if either player had signed a pre-contract yet, Baxter replied, “I don’t think it’s gone that far. We’ve made our interest known and we’ve done the right thing by everybody.”

Pieterse has already told Chiefs of his intention to leave at the end of the season, while ‘Yeye’ is still believd to be weighing up his options.
