Arrows Sneak Past Cosmos

A solitary strike from Musa Bilankulu was enough to hand Golden Arrows a slender 1-0 win over struggling Jomo Cosmos in a tightly contested Absa Premiership clash.
Jomo Coosmos enjoyed a promising start to the clash, but Gladwin Shitolo almost spoiled the party when he came close to breaking the deadlock in the 11thminute.
Five minutes later Mxolisi Mauphu responded with a shot that almost troubled Maximilian Mbaevu in the Arrows’ goal.
Not much could separate the two sides as both outfits managed to create half-chances here and there, but Arrows upped the tempo as the first stanza drew to a close and were almost rewarded when Sibusiso Sibeko came close with a 42ndminute effort.
Right on the stroke of half-time though, the Durban outfit were rewarded for their pressure when Musa Bilankulu grabbed the opener following a corner, 1-0.
The second stanza started off on a slower pace as both sides looked to settle once more and get going in the encounter.
As the second 45 minutes continued, it was proving to be more physical as a heated midfield battle was on display.
The two midfields did well to break down play in the middle of the park, but clear-cut chances were not coming by, while Jomo Sono introduced the likes of Denver Mukamba and Mician Mhone for the final 20 minutes
The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages and were nearly rewarded in the 90th minute, but Mhone fired wide of the upright from close range, as Arrows held on for the win.
