Pirates Drop Points At Home

The Buccaneers took control from the onset and looked to feed in-form Tendai Ndoro at every opportunity.
Despite dominating the possession statistics, Pirates struggled to create openings against a stubborn Rise and Shine defence.
The visitors were quite content to sit back and attack Pirates on the counter, but they went close after 22 minutes as Ngobe's long rang effort sailed just wide of the upright.
Luvuyo Memela nearly handed the Buccaneers the lead in the 37th minute. The midfielder embarked on a fine individual run, before forcing George Chigova into a fine low save.
However, Polokwane ended the half stronger and were unlucky not to be in the lead, as Thobani Mncwango's header crashed onto the upright.
Pirates were dealt a blow shortly after the break, as Thabo Matlaba picked up a slight knock and was replaced by Patrick Phungwayo.
The hosts squandered a glorious chance to break the deadlock in the 68th minute, as Issa Sarr blazed over the crossbar from six-yards out, after a well-worked free-kick.
Eric Tinkler's side continued to dictate the tempo but it was the visitors who carved out another chance in the 79th minute but  Mncwango failed to direct his header on target.
Mncwango was presented with another chance in the 90th minute, as the striker was played through on goal with only Mhlongo to beat. However, he was pushed wide and could only fire straight at the Pirates goalkeeper.
Neither side could find the all important winner in the closing stages and they were forced to settle for a point.
Here's how they lined up:
Orlando Pirates: 16. Mhlongo, 8. Matlaba (Phungwayo 51'), 2. Gcaba, 34. Nyauza, 28. Mahamutsa, 5. Makola, 11. Myeni, 18. Sarr, 37. Memela (Motupa 79'), 15. Qalinge (Rakhale 66'), 7. Ndoro
