Under-23 destroyed 3-1 by senegal

Amaglug-glug started the clash brightly and put the home defence under some pressure. However, it was the hosts who opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Kwanda Mngonyama brought down Ismaila Sarr in the box and Ibrahima Keita slotted the penalty.

Five minutes later the hosts were two goals clear. Samba Ndiaye provided a brilliant pass that put Keita in space to shoot, and he made no mistake as he placed it in the far bottom corner of the goal.

South Africa pulled one back in the 28th minute. Phakamani Mahlambi won the penalty decision after outwitting Ibrahima Diedhiou, and Siphelele Ntshangase smashed home the spot-kick.

The game slowed down a lot after the interval as both sides struggled to string together passes and create opportunities. South Africa looked for long-balls but Senegal were better in the air.

The Little Lions clinched the victory in the 87th minute when substitute Sidy Sarr curled a placed shot into the far bottom corner of the goal after a simple throw-in from the right.
