26 October is one year of the death of Senzo Meyiwa but no one is behind the bars SAPS is playing with us really.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper,Senzo Meyiwa.

The star was shot and killed while visiting his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo at her mother’s house in Vosloorus last year.

Police say they've not lost hope of making arrests in the investigation and have now taken over 100 statements and have interviewed more than 30 people in various provinces.

The police’s Solomon Makgale said, “We’ve not given up hope. We feel for the family & his friends. We want to make sure that at the end of the day, there’s justice. And we want to bring those who killed Senzo Meyiwa to court so that they can face the full might of the law.”
A man was arrested a month after the shooting but was released shortly after prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to proceed with the case.
After an emotional memorial at the Moses Mabhida Stadium where thousands of fans remembered the footballer, Meyiwa was laid to rest in his home town of Umlazi.

At the same time, police have dismissed reports that a captain investigating the Meyiwa murder case has quit.
According to reports, Captain Joyce Buthelezi made recommendations to a committee dealing with the case that everyone who was in the house on the day Meyiwa was killed should be charged with perjury and defeating the ends of justice
No arrests until today have been made.
