Ramokadi: Tinkler getting team selection totally wrong at Orlando Pirates

Former Orlando Pirates forward Bruce Ramokadi has blamed Eric Tinkler what he believes to be poor selection. He says that he cannot fathom why a talented player like Thabo Qalinge just sits on the bench while the team struggles to win games.

“Eric’s selection has question marks for me. I really do not understand why a player like Thabo Qalinge has not played under him,” Ramokadi told Goal.

“A lot of things are not going well at the moment and it’s bad for the team.” Ramokadi said supporters will be going into the Soweto derby discouraged based on the poor performance. “The supporters are very discouraged at the moment and you do not need this kind of atmosphere heading into the biggest match of the season. It also affect the player because they get strength from the support of the fans.

” Ramokadi says that although there seems to be little faith in the coach he doesn’t think Tinkler will leave before seeing out the Caf Confederation Cup final.

“Despite all the poor performances, I think Tinkler is still safe until after the final of the Confederations Cup,” he said.

Ramokadi said the biggest problem for Pirates as the moment is their poor defence even though strikers are struggling to find the back of the net. “Everything has fallen apart for the team especially in that defence,” said the former Bucs forward.

“For me Ayanda Gcaba is the weak link and I think the coach should play Edward Gyimah regularly,” Ramokadi
