Liverpool Crush Huddersfield At Anfield

Default
Liverpool proved too strong for Huddersfield, as they romped to a 3-0 win at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds were without the services of star midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who missed out through injury.
The game's first chance arrived after 15 minutes when James Milner picked out Daniel Sturridge, whose volley sailed over the crossbar.
10 minutes later, the Reds carved another chance as Mohamed Salah fired a low cross into Sturridge, who dragged his effort wide from close range.
The Reds were eventually awarded a penalty five minutes before the break when Roberto Firmino was brought down by Tommy Smith. Salah stepped up but saw his spot-kick saved by Jonas Lossl, while Jordan Henderson hit the upright on the rebound.
The score remained goalless as the sides entered the halftime break.
However, Liverpool took the lead five minutes into the second half as Sturridge broke through on goal before lifting the ball over Lossl, 1-0.
The Reds managed to double their advantage in the 58th minute as Firmino headed home Milner's corner to make up for his failure to score from the penalty spot, 2-0.
Jurgen Klopp's men continued to dominate and they found a third goal on 75 minutes as Salah teed up Georginio Wijnaldum, who rifled the ball into the top corner leaving Lossl with no chance, 3-0.
Huddersfield barley threatened Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, as the host saw out the the remaining stages with relative ease.
