Manchester City restored their five-point lead over Manchester United after defeating West Bromwich Albion 3-2 at the Hawthornes.
Leroy Sane opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola's charges in the 10 minute with a clinical finish after being gifted space inside the box following an assist by Fernandinho, 0-1.
Three minutes later Jay Rodriguez levelled matters for Tony Pulis' troops after Ederson could not clear his lines in time to prevent a lobbed shot from Rodriguez, 1-1.
Sane and Fernandinho combined again for the Citizens but this time the latter was the goalscorer of the second goal with a low shot inside the box two minutes after conceding, 1-2.
The match settled somewhat after a dramatic opening 20 minutes with City now controlling the match with patient possession.
The score remained 2-1 to City at the halftime break.
Raheem Sterling produced the third goal for the Citizens in the 64th minute, scoring from close range following an cross from Kyle Walker, 1-3.
The visitors continued to dominate after 80 minutes looking to add more goals to their tally.
Matt Phillips pulled another goal back in the second minute of stoppage time after an error of judgement from Nicolas Otamendi, but City were already home and dry.
