Bucs Defender's Season Over?

Default
Patrick Phungwayo has been a notable absentee from the Orlando Pirates line-up in recent matches, with an indication that the situation could continue for the remainder of the season.
Phungwayo last featured for Bucs in their 2-0 loss against Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership game that took place on May 07.
On May 10, the South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed to the Siya crew that the Pirates left-back faces a case of alleged attempted murder which was opened against him.
The player was subsequently not part of the Bucs' 18-man matchday squad for the game against Bloemfontein Celtic that evening.
Furthermore, the player was not in the matchday squads for the games against Ajax Cape Town and Golden Arrows in the league and Nedbank Cup respectively.
Marc van Heerden has taken over the left-back position for Kjell Jonevret's side and has performed well to help the Soweto giants to reach the final of the Nedbank Cup.
The indication from sources close to Bucs is that the team could decide to continue without Phungwayo for their remaining games of the season.
