It has been a trend on the continent to have siblings lighting up the football fraternity. Some of these talented brothers have dominated the international stage and leagues abroad.
On the other hand, some remain in the shadows of their brothers. Here is a list of the best siblings on the continent:
Kolo And Yaya Toure (Cote D’Iviore)
These two have tasted success with top European teams and, eventually, with their country when they won AFCON final in 2015.
Benni And Jerome McCarthy (South Africa)
Benni is the most successful South African player after his spell in Europe, where, amongst other things, he won the Champions League with Porto. His brother Jerome came to Kaizer Chiefs highly rated with great pace and deft footwork, but never lived to expectations.
Andre And Jordan Ayew (Ghana)
Abedi Pele's sons are making their own mark in football, as ‘Dede’ has been nominated more than once for the CAF player of the year award.
Alain And Bertrand Traore (Burkina Faso)
The older brother, Alain is in France, at FC Lorient, while's the younger brother, Bertrand, replaced our own Thulani Serero at Ajax Amsterdam in Holland. Both they are doing well for themselves.
Chris And Felix Katongo(Zambia)
Both played in the PSL before they went abroad, and then they won the AFCON with Zambia in 2012.
Mustapha And Sambou Yatabare (Mali)
These two Malian brothers are the key players for the national team and are based in Europe.
Wilfred And William Mugeyi (Zimbabwe)
The Mugeyi twins came into the PSL to play for Umtata Bush Bucks, before Wilfred went to China, and both were members of the Zimbabwean national team.
