Mpontshane Is Leaving No Stone Unturned

Siyabonga Mpontshane joined Orlando Pirates two years ago. There were high expectations, with some thinking he could replace the late Senzo Meyiwa. However, it didn’t turn out as everyone thought it would, with Brighton Mhlongo on form.
Nonetheless, the arrival of coach Kjell Jonevret, has been a blessing for the 31-year-old keeper, as we've seen him been given a chance. We expected 'Siya' did not waste time, and he took that chance with both hands.
Ever since he has been featured, Mpontshane manage to keep few clean sheets, which is what Pirates could not do before. His proficiency sees Brighton Mhlongo and Jackson Mabokgwane warming the bench or sitting in the stands.
furthermore, Mpontshane seems to be knocking in the national team’s door as well, and his quick reflexes are coming close to that of Kaizer Chiefs’ number one, Itumeleng Khune. His distribution is even more accurate than ever. Mpontshane has improved and he deserve to be Bucs’ number one.

  1. I can finally say we(Orlando Pirates) have a goalkeeper....Both Mhlongo and Mabokgwane almost took us to NFD.
