Mosimane: I Am Offended That People Are Saying No Local Coach Can Coach Bafana

Mamelodi Sundowns' Pitso Mosimane has admitted his disappointment at the judging committee's remark that no local coach has the ability to coach Bafana Bafana.
The South African Football Association are set to unveil a new head coach for the South African national team this week, and the likes of foreigners such as Carlos Queiroz, Herve Renard, Hugo Broos and Ruud Krol have all been linked with the job.
Despite Gavin Hunt's name previously being mentioned as one of the candidates for the Bafana job, according to local reports, members of the committee at SAFA have indicated that no local head coach has satisfied the criteria to take on the responsibility of leading the national team.
Speaking after Sundowns' defeat to Cape Town City on Friday, Mosimane reiterated that he does not want the national team job, but hit back at Lucas Radebe's remarks about local coaches not meeting SAFA's criteria for the position.
"I am not part of the Bafana shortlist, I told you. I have been there, I have done it, the only thing that I am disappointed in is that maybe, there is no local coach. Everyone says no local coach can coach Bafana Bafana. I mean, really, that's not nice for local coaches," Mosimane said.
"No local coaches can coach Bafana? Are you being serious? I think Hunty has done well hey, he must have a run hey? He is a good coach, he is disciplined and tactically organised, he has won three titles at SuperSport and at Wits, he has been second, second, or third. Won the Super Eight, I mean what else should he do to get a run for Bafana? He deserves also a title, a chance to go for it."
Mosimane also touched on the fact that Radebe was the team captain of English outfit Leeds United, so he does not see why a local coach cannot coach the national team.
"I don't have a problem with who they appoint, but I have a problem when Lucas (Radebe) says that there is nobody in the country who could coach Bafana. I mean really? It is like someone that says there is no player in South Africa who can captain Leeds United. You know what I am trying to say?" the Brazilians manager added.
"He says there is no one who can coach Bafana Bafana locally. We just won the Champions League, by the way. We just won the Super Cup, we just won the league, the Telkom Knockout, and there is no coach who can coach Bafana Bafana? Are you being serious?"
