Cape Town City captain, Lebogang Manyama, has been a revelation for his team this season guiding them to a cup win in their first year of existence as well as helping them to sit comfortably at the top of the Absa Premiership log, as things stand.
When he was announced as the captain, many doubted him. But his coach, Eric Tinkler, a former captain himself, clearly saw some part of himself in the attacker as he gave him the responsibility without a second guess and Manyama has taken it in his stride.
He is the joint top scorer with Tendai Ndoro in the league and his contribution of 5 winning goals for his team has been the best in the league.
This has been even more impressive due to his transition from a nominal winger in his days at Ajax Cape Town to now leading the line with distinction. He could be the striker the national team has been crying out for years now.
