Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker and Willard Katsande were among the goals as Kaizer Chiefs cruised to a 3-1 win over Free State Stars.
Both sides tried to settled down in the early stages, which evident by the lack of clear-cut chances in the opening 15 minutes.
Chiefs eventually broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, as Simphiwe Tshabalala curled home a fine free-kick from 25-yards out with Thela Ngobeni well beaten.
The home side continued to dominate and were awarded a penalty in the 28th minute when Chirambadare was brought down by Thela Ngobeni. Bernard Parker stepped up and had his penalty saved, but he managed to convert from the rebound, 2-0.
Stars, meanwhile, looked a different side after going behind, as they struggled to deal with the midfield and pace down the flanks.
Steve Komphela's charges were full value but Stars nearly pulled one back just before the break, but Mohammed Anas saw his strike deflect onto the upright.
The score remained 2-0 to the AmaKhosi at the halftime break.
After a slow start to the half, Komphela introduced Gustavo Paez for his AmaKhosi debut as he replaced Chirambadare in the 59th minute.
Chiefs then added a third goal on 64 minutes as Willard Katsande brilliantly skipped past two challenges, before calmly slotting ino the bottom corner.
Stars pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute when Rooi Mahamutsa scored his first goal for Starsl by drilling home a low free-kick from the edge of the area.
