Mamelodi Sundowns ended their Club World Cup campaign with a 4-1 defeat to Jeonbuk Hyundai in the fifth place play-off.
Pitso Mosimane named the same starting line-up that lost 2-0 to Kashima Antlers in their quarterfinal encounter on Sunday.
Sundowns enjoyed a similar start to the previous clash, having enjoyed a lot of the possession in the early stages, while Tiyani Mabunda forced Hong Jeong-nam into a good save after 15 minutes.
However, it was the South Koreans broke the deadlock after 18 minutes, as Kim Bo-kyung rifled the ball into the roof of the net from close range to grab his second goal of the tournament.
Jeonbuk doubled their advantage just over 10 minutes later, as Lee Jongho fired home from a well-worked free-kick, 2-0.
The South Koreans were well in control and managed to make it 3-0 just before the halftime break, as Ricardo Nascimento turned Han Kyowon's cross into his own net.
Mosimane opted for a change at the start of the second half, as Sibusiso Vilakazi repalced Leonardo Castro.
Sundowns then reduced the deficit shortly after the halftime break of courtesy a fine strike from Percy Tau, who skipped past his marker, before rifling the ball into the top corner.
Denis Onyango came to Sundowns' rescue after 70 minutes, as the Ugandan did well to keep out Leonardo's well-struck effort.
The South African outfit introduced Asavela Mbekile for Khama Biliat in the 75th minute, while Lucky Mohomi replaced Thapelo Morena in the 81st minute.
However, Jeonbuk managed to add a fourth goal in the 89th minute as Kim Shinwoook registered his name on the score-sheet to round off an emphatic.
