Aguero's hattrik helps City Past Chelsea

Sergio Aguero was the hero as he scored a wonderful hat-trick to guide Manchester City to a 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Both sides had a blistering start to the clash as they both pushed forward in search of an early goal, but it was Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne’s fifth minute shot that almost rattled the net, Thibaut Courtois managing to keep it out in the bottom corner.

The visitors began to gain some momentum as the match progressed, and Samir Nasri also tested Courtois in the bottom corner with a 26th minute effort.

Six minutes later Sergio Aguero grabbed the opener with a well struck effort from outside the box after a well executed counter attack move, 1-0.

Only eight minutes into the second stanza and the Argentine forward had already extended The Citizens’ lead to 2-0 after another well crafted counter attack.

The visitors were dominating play in the second stanza, and it was only a matter of time before Aguero completed his hat-trick with a 79th minute strike from the penalty spot, making it 3-0 to Manchester City. While, Courtois was shown a straight red card for bringing down Fernandinho in the box.

The Blues tried to get back into the game but Manuel Pellegrini’s outfit were too solid at the back, holding on to their 3-0 victory.
